Following the technical release of the forthcoming 2021 ABPI Code of Practice the PMCPA will be running a support webinar for those not able to attend the series of webinars for pharmaceutical companies.  This webinar is to make available more widely the learnings from the series of webinars for pharmaceutical companies to help build understanding through knowledge and implement the 2021 ABPI Code of Practice, which goes live on 1 July 2021.

PMCPA implementation support sessions

Compliance with the ABPI Code is key to demonstrating to the MHRA, amongst others, that the pharmaceutical industry is committed to self-regulation.

The PMCPA are delivering a series of implementation support sessions for pharmaceutical companies aimed at enabling companies build their understanding and knowledge ahead of the operational date for the new 2021 Code, so that applicable policies and procedures can be updated and staff trained, thus supporting companies in driving robust compliance with the Code.

The webinar on 28 May is open to all those who were not able to attend the series we are running for pharmaceutical companies which will include the learnings etc from the sessions for companies.

The Prescription Medicines Code of Practice Authority

The Prescription Medicines Code of Practice Authority (PMCPA) is the self-regulatory body which administers the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) Code of Practice for the Pharmaceutical Industry, independently of the ABPI.  It was established by the ABPI on 1 January 1993.

The Authority is responsible for the provision of advice, guidance and training on the Code as well as for the complaints procedure.  It is also responsible for arranging for conciliation between companies when requested to do so and for arranging for the scrutiny of advertising and meetings on a regular basis.

ABPI Examination for Medical Representatives

postponed due to COVID-19. More information is available on the ABPI website, link below

To extend the time available to take the examination an application for an extension should be made on the form on this website, link below

The extension request should preferably be made by the company rather than the representative.
