Advertisements and public reprimands

​​The PMCPA advertises in the medical and pharmaceutical press brief details of all cases where companies are ruled in breach of Clause 2 of the Code, are required to issue a corrective statement or are the subject of a public reprimand.

Advertisements appear in the BMJ, Pharmaceutical Journal and the Nursing Standard and can be found below

August 2017

Astellas UK and Astellas Europe have brought discredit upon, and reduced confidence in, the pharmaceutical industry. Both companies have been named in advertisements following breaches of the ABPI Code of Practice for the Pharmaceutical Industry. In addition both have been publicly reprimanded.

Pfizer Ltd, Novartis Pharmaceuticals UK Ltd and Tor Generics Ltd have brought discredit upon, and reduced confidence in, the pharmaceutical industry. All three companies have been named in advertisements following breaches of the ABPI Code of Practice for the Pharmaceutical Industry.  The advertisements will appear in the British Medical Journal on 16 September 2017, the Nursing Standard on 20 September 2017 and the Pharmaceutical Journal on 30 September 2017.​

May 2017 

Astellas and Gedeon Richter (UK) Ltd have been named in advertisements following breaches of the ABPI Code of Practice. Astellas UK has been publicly reprimanded and Gedeon Richter required to issues a corrective statement.

Vifor Pharma, Celgene, Takeda and Pierre Fabre have been named in advertisements having breached the ABPI Code of Practice for the Pharmaceutical Industry and brought discredit upon, and reduced confidence in, the pharmaceutical industry.​

Grünenthal Ltd, Boehringer Ingelheim Limited, Eli Lilly and Company Limited, AstraZeneca UK Limited and Janssen-Cilag Ltd have been named in advertisements following breaches of the ABPI Code of Practice for the Pharmaceutical Industry.  Boehringer Ingelheim and Eli Lilly and Company were required to issue a corrective statement.

Sanofi and Otsuka named in advertisements following breaches of the ABPI Code of Practice for the Pharmaceu​​tical Industry.


 
Sanofi and Otsuka have each breached Clause 2 of the Code and are subject to advertisements in the medical, pharmaceutical and nursing press.  In addition Sanofi was publicly reprimanded.

 February 2015

Chiesi has breached the ABPI Cod​​e of Practice for the Pharmaceutical Industry and in addition has been publicly reprimanded. 

Chiesi has been publicly reprimanded for providing inaccurate information to the PMCPA during the course of a complaint about a leavepiece and again during the course of a subsequent audit and so is the subject of advertisements in the medical, pharmaceutical and nursing press.

Galderma UK Ltd and Merck Serono have each breached Clause 2 of the ABPI Code of Practice and are the subject of advertisements in the medical, pharmaceutical and nursing press.  In addition Galderma was also publicly reprimanded and removed from the list of non-member companies that have agreed to comply with the Code.
